How does BM Kids Agency work?
Blooming Minds Kids agency are extremely selective with the children we take onto our books. We welcome all applications, however we will take on children we honestly feel have a good chance of getting work, whether this be for modelling, acting, talent show, radio or commercial. Once we receive your application and fees, you will receive a response within approximately 10 working days. Should your child be deemed potentially suitable for the agency, you will be sent full details of the next step. Your child will be invited along to an assessment and photo shoot session. The assessment gives the agency the chance to meet you and your child face to face to assess and discuss your child’s suitability and raise any further questions you may have, as well as for us to observe your child and their overall behavior in an unknown environment, similar to that of an average casting session. Why does the Agency need to meet my child for an assessment?
We feel it is imperative an agency meets the child in person before accepting them onto their books. It is the agency’s duty to ensure they are sending the right child for the job, this would clearly be extremely difficult to do if the agency hadn’t met and therefore didn’t personally know the child; their personality, speech, likes/dislikes etc. The reason a client will approach a professional agency for a child may often have nothing to do with the child’s look, but that they want to be sure the child takes direction well, is happy and confident in front of the camera and of course is well behaved. A client will often ask the agency questions like ‘How confident is this child in front of the camera?’, ‘How do you think this child would be able to handle lines to camera?’, ‘What sort of accent does this child have?’ etc. These would all be impossible questions to answer had the agency not met your child.
Does the Agency charge any fees and how does this work?
We charge a one off registration fee of 25GHC, payable only by bank deposit (cash not accepted). Once your child is selected, we charge an additional 150GHC for professional photographs taken with the agency photographer for your child’s portfolio and website fees. All copies of the photos will be made available to parents for keeps. Our photographer will take shots on a white background, which will include an array of different angles and expressions that our clients need to see. Babies under 2yrs old would need their photos updated regularly at no extra cost.
How does the agency earn?
The agency earns from commission. We take a standard 25% commission on all assignment fees (excluding travel expenses). (Fees payable by the client to the child for work done).
Once my child is registered with the agency, are they guaranteed work?
Unfortunately not! No agency could possibly guarantee work; however we would do our upmost best to find work for our children. The ultimate decision rests on the CLIENT not the agency as they select who they want for the assignment.
What happens once my child is registered with the agency?
We will put your child forward for all assignments your child meets the criteria for. As and when a client contacts us to ask to meet your child for a casting or book them for a shoot, we will contact you immediately. Sometimes we might contact you beforehand if the client requests us to do so to confirm availability on a number of shortlisted models or maybe to confirm a specific detail. We will not contact you each and every time your child is submitted for work. It is obviously crucial that parents continuously keep the agency informed of any changes whatsoever.
Can I book single swimming lessons?
Unfortunately it is almost impossible to swim confidently after a single lesson; hence our swimming lessons can only be booked in blocks of 10, 15 or 20.
Can I book single Yoga/Pilate Sessions?
- Yes, single sessions can be booked but must be done well in advance to guarantee availability.
Can I book my sessions online?
Yes, all sessions can be booked online and must be done through the agency and not through our instructors.
Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, all booked sessions are non-refundable.
What are the benefits of Registered & Non-Registered?
You do not have to be registered with the agency to book any session, however all registered kids get a 20% discount on all activities.
